CISS held an opening ceremony and formally welcomed its new cohort of students on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. The opening ceremony, held by Mr. Zhang Li, the director of the science & technology managing department, saw full attendance of CISS leaders, graduate tutors and student representatives.

On behalf of all stuff, President Feng Lianshi first expressed his warm welcome and delivered sincere greetings to the new students. He noted, “CISS is China’s earliest and largest mufti-disciplinary sport research institute with rich academic resources and practice opportunities, being a member of it should firmly apply to the institute motto of practicality, creativity, diligence and dedication.

Zhao Jiexiu, vice president of CISS, provided an in-depth enrollment education for all professors and students, and elaborated on the teaching process, student rules and degree regulations. He also asked the students to uphold the value of fairness, justice and moral integrity.

He Zihong, researcher of the sport training department, speaking on behalf of the teaching faculty, said she was hopeful that the students would love and treasure the time studying at CISS, work with a practical, modest, scientific and rigorous attitude, and have the courage to face challenges.

Lan Xiaoyu, Li Chenyan, majored in human movement science, shared their thoughts separately as new student representatives. Lan said, “as younger generation, we should make up our mind to make contributions to the country's future sports technology progress”. Li said, “CISS will not only equip me with rich resources to explore the sport world but also instill me with an unwavering flame of youth passion.”

The joyful opening ceremony concluded with a full-member photo. Students should treasure every moment of being a member of the CISS big family and enjoy academic life here.
